Calculator Policy
Where the Mathematics Department has adopted specific uniform calculator requirements for all sections of a course these are listed by course number. Calculator usage in courses not listed is determined by the individual instructor.
- MTH 096, 098, 099, 104, 164, 165, 175, 200, 210
Only a non–programmable, non–graphing, non–solving scientific calculator will be allowed to be used on the final exam. Graphing or solving calculators, cell phones and any other electronic devices are prohibited during final exam testing. - MTH 130
A non-programmable, non-graphing calculator with squaring, square root, and exponent capabilities is required and may be used freely on all exams. - MTH 150
At least a scientific calculator is required, but the preference is up to each instructor. - MTH 152
A non-programmable, non-graphing, non-solving scientific calculator is required. Graphing or solving calculators, cell phones and any other electronic devices are prohibited during all exams. - MTH 160, 161, 162, 163
At least a scientific calculator is required. The use of a graphing calculator is at the discretion of the instructor; however, the instructor may not require a graphing calculator. Any calculator approved by the instructor is allowed on the final exam. Cell phones and other electronic devices are prohibited during final exam testing. - MTH 211
A non-programmable, non-graphing, non-solving scientific calculator maybe allowed on the final exam at the instructor’s discretion. - MTH 212, 220, 225, 230, 260
The calculator requirement is at the discretion of the individual instructor.
